New Resource for Group Trip Ideas and Activities Launches Today

Today Wigadoo, the best way to organise agroup of people when money is involved, launches the new and improved Ideas Forum.

The Wigadoo Ideas Forum is the best place to find a multitude of activities, trips, holidays and things to do for groups of people. Whether you are planning a stag or hen party, looking for the best place to go on a group ski trip or just want to do something different or unusual with your group, we hope that you will be able to find it here.

We will be constantly adding and updating the ideas, which consist of things that Wigadooers have already done, and believe me there have been some amazing things organised so far, things that we think are particularly great and need special attention, or some interesting ideas from some of our trusted partners.

The Ideas Forum consists of an Ideas Wall where you can browse pictures of the ideas, the Ideas List, where it is easier to compare ideas side by side with more information, and the Features section, where we will highlight the best of the ideas and offer tips and advice to groups wishing to do stuff together.

We hope that you enjoy it and find it useful, and as ever your feedback is welcome.

Take your friends to Chamonix for the weekend.

Yesterday I had a very interesting chat with the MD of a company called Ski Weekends.

As their name suggests they specialise in short ski breaks, but as well as 3 or 4 day long weekends, they offer weekly breaks too.

I have in the past thought about popping over to Chamonix for a weekend's skiing, but decided upon it being impractical. So I listened with interest at how they sell weekend trips to Chamonix with 3 days on the slopes which means missing only one day at work.

The prices for a weekend trip to Chamonix start at about £179 and involve an overnight return coach trip, leaving thursday night for 3 days of skiing and returning Sunday night to arrive in time for work Monday morning.

The coaches are described as luxurious and certainly seem to have plenty of room, with reclining seats and they offer entertainment such as films along the way too. Of course this is considered a greener alternative to air travel.

For groups Ski Weekends offer discounts on booking of 10 or more and they can even tailor make any itinerary to suit your group's desires.

Perhaps as the current recession looms larger, then more people will look at short and weekend breaks to the Alpine ski resorts, and I think Ski Weekends is well worth considering. Their website is very easy to use and they offer live pricing too.

Of course Wigadoo can help you with your planning for group ski holidays. As the season is about to begin we are seeing many people using Wigadoo to collect deposits for accommodation or plan their trips and agree dates and ski resorts using the Wigadoo vote.

Wigadoo August: Osage County at The National Theatre

One of Broadway's biggest hits opens at The National Theatre for an 8 week run, this month.

Winner of 5 Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Best drama, Steppenwolf's production of August; Osage County by Tracey Letts is described by The New York Times as 'The most exciting new American play Broadway has seen for years'.

August: Osage County is about the large Weston family who unexpectedly reunite in Oklahoma, after their father's disappearance, their home explodes in a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets. This new play unflinchingly – and uproariously – exposes the dark side of the Midwestern American family.

The play opens on Friday 21st November and is sure to book out quickly. If you are thinking of going with friends you can organise it with Wigadoo straight from the National Theatre August: Osage County website.
